Whistler is calling!

Two new small paintings (8x10) that I might paint larger as I quite like them!
They are called "Late Summer Feast" and "Tusk at Twilight". They're acrylic on board, $160 unframed.

Still life weekend with Gaye Adams

I've admired Gaye's still lifes for quite a while,  so when Janice Robertson booked her in to her Fort Langley studio for a 3 day workshop, I jumped at the opportunity. As many times as I've heard, "lighter, darker, warmer, cooler" it really sunk in here. Had a wonderful time with Gaye, Janice and Alan (Wylie), and Mark Hobson was also there for a visit. Here are my first efforts at this captivating approach. In oils! They're still wet 5 days later .. a nuisance but love the soft edge possibilities.

Exciting news!

My Smugglers' Cove painting was accepted into the 70th Anniversary Show of the Federation of Canadian Artists, at the Federation Gallery, 1241 Cartwright Street on Granville Island. It opens on Tuesday, Oct 25, but the  opening reception is Thursday, Oct 27, 6-8pm.

Two other paintings, shown above, have  been accepted into the subsequent show that starts November 15. The show is called Small, Smaller, Smallest, and there should be lots of temptations for Christmas shoppers there! These two are called High'n Dry on the Coast, and Treasure Hunt.
